A Large Bamboo Carved Libation Cup
17th century
The libation cup carved from a portion of bamboo resembles a naturalistic tree trunk in its design, with branches of blossoming prunus flowers.

The gnarled winding branches wrap simultaneously around the trunk forming the cup, the prunus budding and in full blossom. The bamboo is of a rich dark ochre tone.

Height: 12.4 cm, 4 7⁄8” inches
