An Unusual Black Enamel Porcelain Mallet-Form Vase
Qing Dynasty, Kangxi Period 1662-1722
The vase of mallet form with cylindrical body has a elongated straight neck it is encircled half way up by a raised fillet and finishes with a flared mouth rim. The vase is covered in an intense black enamel as opposed to the black glaze more commonly used in mirror black pieces.
